Taking responsibility

What we do

Our guiding
principles

Sustainable products

Ecological-efficient products reflect the unique selling point of the DRÄXLMAIER Group and generate therefore an added value for our customers. Our understanding of sustainable products includes social and ecological criteria of the material procurement up to the product delivery. We want to identify and value the ecological effects of our used materials and processes and improve them continuously.

Climate change

We commit to follow the targets of the Paris Climate Agreement and to economize climate-neutrally at the latest in 2050 by consequent carbon emission savings. Strategical efficiency measures in the logistics and the production, as well as the ecological source of energy in our locations are reprehensive for our obligation.

Social responsibility

The people are always in the center of our actions. We show responsibility for our employees and their families. Further we exert ourselves actively for the needs of the people in the supply chains. The UN guiding principles for economy and human rights flank our actions.

Sustainable mindset

Thinking
about tomorrow

At the DRÄXLMAIER Group, we are committed to implementing ecologically efficient products and processes at all of our sites. We embrace the idea of making the world cleaner. We also strive to pass on this notion of global environmental change to all of our employees. Renewable energies, recycled material and battery-powered vehicles are just the beginning. By actively promoting a green and sustainable living, we can not only adapt much quicker to the future, we can also show our employees, our customers and our community that we are working toward global environmental change while establishing our authority as a socially conscientious brand.

Committed to our Region

Partner
of the community

As part of society, we fully embrace our social responsibility and support the local community in many ways. In the U.S., our primary areas of community engagement are culture, sports, education and social projects. Giving back to the community in which we operate is our way of saying thank you for making the DRÄXLMAIER Group a part of it.

In addition, our employee-run charity committees in Duncan, S.C., and Livermore, Calif., donate money, canned goods and non-perishable items to many local and regional non-profit organizations. All of these contributions are 100 percent raised by our employees, which clearly demonstrates how much they care about their neighbors in need.

Championing the next generation

Fostering
young minds

At DRÄXLMAIER, we also recognize the importance of fostering an interest of young minds in technology in general and STEM fields in particular. For the past three years, we have supported local and regional robotics programs and competitions. In addition, production engineers from our site in Duncan, S.C., volunteered their time outside work to mentor robotic teams of students in grades 4 through 6 at the local intermediate school in Duncan and help them prepare for competition in the regional finals in North Carolina. Our two U.S. production sites have also hosted plant tours for hundreds of middle school and high school students throughout the years, showcasing our modern production site and introducing them to the fast-paced world of the automotive industry.

Workforce development

Promoting
from within

We are proud of the skilled men and women who bring in their talents every day to strengthen our company’s technological leadership and create high-quality vehicle interiors for premium automobiles. This is why we provide them with many opportunities for professional development the moment they join our team. As a result of this approach, we are able to fill a large number of our open positions from within our own company ranks. Our training programs rank from online courses, which give our employees the chance to learn at their own schedule, to multi-day seminars on specific professional topics like program management and leadership. For those taking courses on their own outside of work at community colleges, tech schools or universities, our company offers tuition reimbursement through the Education Assistance Program.
